Ha sido lanzada la versión 5.0 de Unity 3D con una gran cantidad de funciones nuevas que incluyen:
- Physically-based Standard Shader con lo cual se podrán crear materiales con mejor look en cualquier sistema de iluminación, y en todas las plataformas
- Real-time Global Illumination, basado en la tecnología Geomerics Aclare
- The Audio Mixer, para mejorar el audio en el juego
- HDR Reflection Probes, con la cual se podrá aumentar la fidelidad visual del juego
- PhysX 3.3, mejorarrá enormemente el rendimiento de la física 3D.
- Actualizaciones en el sistema de animación
- previsualizacón WebGL
